Thanks to a Deadline exclusive we have learned that, without prior notice, the theatrical release of ‘Greyhound’ has been canceled by Sony Pictures, originally set for June 12 – taking advantage of Father’s Day weekend American-. Instead, the feature film will land directly on the Apple TV + service on a date yet to be determined. With this maneuver, Apple’s streaming platform goes one step further to reinforce its catalog with first-rate productions. A still limited selection, but not without interesting offers, particularly in the field of the series, as well as titles such as ‘Servant’, ‘Mythic Quest: Banquet of crows’ or ‘Defend Jacob’. In ‘Greyhound’, a story based on real events taken from the Battle of the Atlantic, Tom Hanks plays as the first captain in history to lead a convoy of ships carrying hundreds of soldiers at the forefront of World War II. Without any air cover for 5 days, the captain and his ships must fight Nazi submarines to give the Allies a chance to win the war.
